Working with Women and Children

 

Children's Center Helper(s):

Women living at the Center for Women & Children and have young children, have the opportunity for their children to learn while they are there. This allows mom to attend classes in our Education Center or go out and look for gainful employment to provide for her family. The children attend age-appropriate educational programs that include preschool preparation, social behavior lessons, motor skill development, crafts and introduction to Biblical themes. Lunch and/or Dinner Workers:

Last year, Wheeler Mission Ministries served over 250,000 meals. The Center for Women & Children invites you to come serve a meal! Volunteers are needed to serve lunch Monday - Saturday, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM (times may vary with each volunteer’s availability). Volunteers for dinner are needed 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Sundays. We are able to accommodate small groups of 4-5 people. Groups may either donate some or all of the food, or prepare what is on hand at the shelter. Tutors:

Guests staying at the Center for Women & Children are given a tremendous resource called the Education Center. The Education Center is utilized for GED study, general academic review, computer classes and career development. Tutors are needed in a variety of areas (reading, math, writing & comprehension, etc) and training is provided! For more information, please email us at volunteer@wmm.org or call us at 317.635.3575.

Praise and Worship Team:

Recreation Night:

Activities are a wonderful way to fellowship with one another! Come and play games, do a craft or bring a Christian movie (and popcorn too!) to share with the women and children staying at the Center for Women & Children!
